True North Academy will be hosting its next Cinema Talk on March 7th at 6PM in the Community Room! We will be showing one of Angel Studios' newest films, "Sound of Hope: The Story of Possum Trot," and will follow with discussion of the film and practical ways the Church can take action against such a significant crisis. We have invited Melanie Stimmell, Mosaic Church’s Adoption & Foster Care Coordinator, and leaders of Fostering Our Future, the only organization providing Christian-based foster curriculum in FL, to lead the conversation.
Inspired by the powerful true story, Sound of Hope: The Story of Possum Trot, follows Donna and Reverend Martin as they ignite a fire in the hearts of their rural church to embrace kids in the foster system that nobody else would take. By doing the impossible–adopting 77 children–this East Texas community proved that, with real, determined love, the battle for America’s most vulnerable can be won. The film is rated PG-13 and its runtime is 2 hours and 9 minutes.
Attendance is free, and all are welcome. Refreshments will be provided.
