Theme - Apologetics 101: The Basics

Christian young people face a variety of attacks on the truth of Christianity, and it is vital that they be prepared to give an answer for the hope within them. To help equip young Christian men and women for defending the faith, this conference will provide an overview of key issues in apologetics and give answers to some of the most common attacks on the Christian faith.

 Schedule

 9:45–10:05 a.m. — Always Ready? by  Nathan W. Bingham

As a Christian, what is my responsibility in sharing my faith? What do I need to know and how can I make sound arguments to defend the gospel? In this session, learn the importance of apologetics and why young Christians must always be ready to share and defend the reason for the hope that lives within them.

 10:10–10:40 a.m. — Who Am I? by  Stephen Nichols

You have probably been told to “just be yourself” if you want to live a good life. But what does it mean to be you? What is your true identity? By God’s grace, Christians have genuine answers to these questions. This session will look at the problem of human identity, helping us come to a secure understanding of who we are by looking to God's Word.

10:40–10:50 a.m. — Now What? Applying What You've Just Heard

11:15–11:45 a.m. — Can I Trust the Bible? by  Burk Parsons

What does the Bible have to do with our lives today? Skeptics are shocked to hear that people in the twenty-first century still believe and take such an ancient text literally. In this session, we will look at the trustworthiness of Scripture, its authority as our guide for life, and learn how to defend the Bible as the Word of God.

11:45 a.m.–1:00 p.m. — Lunch

1:05–1:30 p.m. — Interview: Following Christ in a Digital Age with Nathan W. Bingham

We use Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat to connect with our friends. These apps are great tools, but if we aren't careful, they can hurt us—and our friends. How can we use technology in a God-honoring way? In this interview, Nathan W. Bingham will go over how we can develop genuine relationships and serve the Lord in our digital age.

1:30–1:50 p.m. — Can I Have Hope? by Eric Bancroft

With all the troubles we face in this world, it is easy to become hopeless. However, one of the reasons that Jesus came was to give us an everlasting hope that cannot fade or be destroyed. This session will consider how we can find hope in this world through faith in Jesus Christ.

1:50–2:00 p.m. — Now What? Applying What You've Just Heard

2:30–3:00 p.m. — Panel Discussion: How Do I Defend the Gospel? with Eric Bancroft, Nathan W. Bingham, and Stephen Nichols

 3:00–3:30 p.m. — Q&A: Got Questions? with Stephen Nichols
